Canaletto (1697–1768) is one of the world’s most recognised artists and a major future exhibition will,
for the first time, bring together paintings, letters and objects that explore the unique connection between
the artist and Tatton Park.
Canaletto’s work is renowned for its imaginary architectural views, considered to
be fledgling versions of virtual reality. This will inspire contemporary artists, to reimagine how we engage
with the Canaletto story, using exciting, new technologies.
Large scale immersive digital artworks in Tatton’s natural landscape are being developed with Art Fund support and we need further funding for this innovative exhibition to benefit communities, volunteers, educational and hard to reach audiences.
